Malindi is one of the old historical towns of the Kenya coast
Having been captured by the Portuguese, the Arabs who had controlled business at Mombassa port for over a century, moved further north of Mombassa to settle at Gedi village.
Here they built one of the biggest towns of the 14th centuary period, now known as gedi ruins
